Off-Road Use Only
All tunes, files, and services sold by LX Tuning are for OFF-ROAD, closed-course, and competition use only. They are not intended for use on public roads. Operating a tuned or modified vehicle on public roads may violate the federal Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. §7522) and state emissions and vehicle-modification laws. Compliance with all applicable laws is the sole responsibility of the customer.
Release of Liability
LX Tuning shall not be held responsible for damage to your engine, transmission, drivetrain, catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, emissions equipment, or any other vehicle component. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, and consequential damages. Tuning inherently modifies factory calibrations and carries risk. By ordering a product or service, you assume all risk.
Wideband AFR Gauge Required
A functioning wideband air/fuel ratio (AFR) gauge is REQUIRED for all wide-open-throttle tuning. Failure to install and log AFR data may result in a lean condition, detonation, and catastrophic engine failure that will not be covered by LX Tuning under any circumstances.
Burble / Pop Tunes
Burble tunes intentionally dump raw fuel into the exhaust stream to create pops and crackles. This behavior:
- Washes oil from cylinder walls, accelerating ring and bore wear.
- Damages catalytic converters and O2 sensors.
- Increases exhaust valve temperatures, risking warping and burn-through.
- Shortens overall engine life.
By selecting a burble tune you fully accept these consequences.
Vehicle Compatibility & Requirements
- Supported model years: 2005 – 2023.
- 2015+ vehicles require an unlocked PCM. LX Tuning does not sell or provide PCM unlock services.
- 2018+ vehicles additionally require a bypass cable. LX Tuning does not sell or provide bypass cables.
- Obtaining unlocking services or bypass cables is the customer's responsibility.
No Refunds After Delivery
Because tune files are custom, digital, and non-returnable, all sales are final once a tune file has been delivered.
Applicable Laws
Federal law (Clean Air Act, EPA regulations) prohibits tampering with emissions equipment on vehicles operated on public roads. Many U.S. states have additional regulations governing exhaust noise, emissions, and aftermarket modifications. Ownership of a tuned vehicle for off-road use is generally legal; operating that vehicle on public roads may not be. Consult your state's laws.
